Before starting any garden or construction project it’s essential to plan ahead for water runs, drainage and ensuring everything’s level where it needs to be.
Key to this is a solid foundation; and our team are experts in laying these with decades of collective experience in this sector.
The most beautiful garden, patio or driveway in the world will quickly be ruined by badly planned drainage or inadequate water runs – we cannot stress the importance of getting it right first time.
We have a fleet of machinery and attachments on-hand (with everything else available to hire as needed) to get the job done – with fully qualified and insured drivers at every stage.

FAQ’s – Groundworks
Do you offer drainage services on their own?
Yes, we are experts at draining and groundworks and are more than happy to be contracted in solely to assist with this part of a project.
We have our own machinery, attachments and professional grade laser measurement equipment – all operated by fully qualified and insured drivers.
Where do you cover?
We’re happy to travel but most of our work is around a 50 mile drive of our base near Dumfries (excluding Cumbria).
Will mine be the only project you’re working on?
Yes. We know how frustrating it can be to feel like your project has been stalled or abandoned when the contracts seemingly start and then leave it for days or weeks at a time. This is usually when the workforce involved are juggling too many plates at once.
Occasionally we’ll be held up due to the weather but unless absolutely unavoidable, when we start working on your project, we’ll be there until we’re done.
What does ‘groundworks’ cover?
Examples of groundwork jobs include – pond digging, levelling, foundations for outbuildings or extensions, service tracts (ducts for water, electrics, phonelines etc), waste pipe laying and drainage.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, we usually invoice a 20% deposit to secure the job and a slot in the work queue. We’ll agree a payment plan with you ahead of time and the project will be invoiced in instalments as we progress.
How long does it take to…. (insert service here)?
No two jobs are the same. We work on projects of all shapes and sizes; some take weeks and others can be completed within an afternoon.
We don’t charge for any of the initial quote or scope out works – please speak to us.
