PATIOS, DRIVEWAYS & PATHS
Patios and paths can make a beautiful addition to your home or business.
Nothing sets off your garden like a beautiful patio or path and our team have decades of experience in helping clients find and choose the best option for their needs, location and budget.
Whether you’re looking for a decorative brickwork, block paving or chip and gravel or an ultra low-maintenance EcoGrid or tar driveway McColm Landscapes can plan, design and deliver everything you need from concept to installation.
We specialise in porcelain, limestone and Indian paving – which make for a really beautiful finish compared to cheaper (i.e. ‘grey’) materials.
We’ll bring a range of samples to the initial meeting to help you get a feel for what works best for your individual circumstances. It can be daunting with so many options so we’ll discuss the best fit for your surroundings and budget.
We’re professional and fully insured – word of mouth is our most powerful marketing tool and we take real pride in our work.

FAQ’s – Patios, Driveways and Paths
What’s the process?
Our first step is to arrange a suitable time to meet you at home for a measure up and meeting to run through your ideas and get a feel for the space and what’s possible.
From this we’ll produce a quote, usually within a week (occasionally longer during particularly busy periods). There’s absolutely no obligation or fees at this stage. If it looks like we’re on the right track with our ideas we’d ideally come back to fine-tune the designs and in any case we’d arrange a final meeting with you on-site before getting final approval from you to kick things off.
Will mine be the only project you’re working on?
Yes. We know how frustrating it can be to feel like your project has been stalled or abandoned when the contracts seemingly start and then leave it for days or weeks at a time. This is usually when the workforce involved are juggling too many plates at once.
Occasionally we’ll be held up due to the weather but unless absolutely unavoidable, when we start working on your project, we’ll be there until we’re done.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, we usually invoice a 20% deposit to secure the job and a slot in the work queue. We’ll agree a payment plan with you ahead of time and the project will be invoiced in instalments as we progress.
What materials do you work with?
Alongside traditional concrete slabs, we specialise in beautiful higher end materials including porcelain, Indian sandstone, Egyptian limestone and Brazilian slate.
We have a growing range of samples that we’ll bring with us to our first meeting (no cost or obligation) to help give you a true feel and sense of what options are available.
Will it be slippy?
No – we select the stone and materials we work with very carefully to ensure they’re safe throughout the year wherever possible. Weather, ice and algae can of course contribute but the surface will be as grippy as possible when we’re finished.
What areas do you cover?
We’re happy to travel but most of our work is around a 50 mile drive of our base near Dumfries (excluding Cumbria).
